What a great afternoon last Sunday!
Rounders Knockout on the village playing field was a whole community and family event and a lot of fun...whether it was watching all those who took part (well done those in fancy dress!) ...avoiding the prosecco corks..... or catching up with friends! It was lovely to see so many familes...some with three generations... having a good time in the sunshine.
A huge sum of £800 was raised for the restoration of the village Maypole into the bargain.
Special thanks to:
The Crown Hotel (Paul Hicks and his team) who provided the BBQ and donated all proceeds after the cost.
Pioneer, who provided a chilled van for goods.
The Cricket Club (Giles Vasey) who provided the venue and made a donation from the proceeds of the bar.
Sweet Celebrations (JaclynWhiteside)made a donation from the proceeds.
The Wheatsheaf (Graham Watt) who provided the first prize and also had a large part in figuring out the knockout
KC Bikes (Robin Mumberson) who assisted in the planning
Choice Furniture (Emma McKeown) who helped with the registration
Paddy Sherman who gave up his time to act as compere for the afternoon
Wetheral Village Shop and the Posting Pot (Diane and John, helped by Bella) who provided the Prosecco Bar and donated all proceeds after the cost.
Well done to everyone who took part!
