Grapevine - 12 November 2016

Sunday, 13 November 2016

First of all, thank you to John Robinson for volunteering so quickly for the job share with Colin James in The Grotto on Saturday 26th November!  Probably the most important job in the year at the Hall - for the youngest members of our community!

Our next Highlights professional production is Oliver Meech ‘When Magic and Science Collide’ Thursday 24th November 7pm.  Setup for this production, with stage and chairs only, will be 10am that morning.  Because there are a lot of secret magic props, we shall leave clearing the Hall until Fri 25th 10am.  We really do rely on the help of volunteers from the village.  If you have never helped before, or you are a regular volunteer and can spare just an hour on either or both mornings, please let anyone from the management team know, or reply to this email as soon as possible.  It’s true! Many hands do make light work!

The Village Christmas Fayre has lots of stalls, fun competitions and refreshments - also a Grotto! Something for everyone! Come along to the Hall 11am-4pm.If you have a spare bottle of wine to donate to this event, please contact Carol 01228561129.  New Years Eve Ceilidh tickets on sale at the Fayre 11.30am.  Both events are a great way to celebrate within our community.

AND ...GOOD NEWS FROM THE HALL!  Those in the village who visit the Hall on a regular basis, will have noticed the addition of a harder surface to the overflow car park. This will aid parking for some of the playing field users and additional parking for the Hall at peak periods.
(Please note: parking for the Playing Field should never use the Hall car park which is for village hall users only).

The Directors of the Hall have also installed new ‘wall wash’ lights to the main hall, along with ceiling fans which circulate warm air from ceiling to floor.  They are also tackling the problem of the heavy entrance doors.  The landscaping all around the site planted by volunteers, is now beginning to take root and look good.
