Acoustics in the Main Hall
On Thursday 19th February a technician from a company based in Bolton attached acoustic boards to the ceiling of the main hall.
They are not too intrusive and, we hope, they have significantly reduced the problem of echo.
We would appreciate comments from all users of the hall, as everyone has different requirements and tolerance of noise reverberations! You can either email us back or let a member of the village hall management team know your thoughts on the matter.

Noticeboards
There are now two new noticeboards for the Community Hall situated in the porch.
One is sealed for details of Hall users and alongside is an open board for general notices. A second sealed board is by the Parish Council Office door and is for the display of statutory notices which have to be displayed by law.
At the moment there also is a free standing display board in the foyer alcove, which has playschool notices attached.
This space will hopefully be filled with the permanent framed village photographic display. Keep searching out those iconic village images!

Landscaping
Thank you to all those who are willing and able to help with the planting of shrubs and trees around the Community Hall and to those who have offered plants and bulbs. Sue has asked that we concentrate on the shrubs and trees initially, so that we can see what is still required by the end of the summer and we'll wait until then for further planting.
If you are keen to join in and have not yet volunteered, just come along to the hall 10.30am Saturday 28th March (not the Friday, as originally written- sorry!)

New Oven
The next big essential purchase required in the main kitchen is a large catering oven.
The kitchen currently has a large domestic electric cooker which, although a superb item, has proved to have a smaller capacity oven.
This is already sold to a neighbouring village hall and the cash will go towards the replacement item.

Fundraising Quiz Night-with supper!
This is not to be missed! The quiz night will be held on Friday 10th April, 7pm for 7.30pm start. Steak pie or vegetarian lasagne followed by home made cakes... mmmmmm!  £7.00 per adult £4.00 children under 12. Lots of notice so that you can get the best teams...maximum 6 people. There will also be raffles and a bar.....what a night of fun!
This is a fundraiser for two local students who are both trekking for charity. Charlotte Keers will be raising funds for The Childrens Society and trekking up Kilimanjaro and Georgie Collins will have an expedition to the Honduras.
